Parker Real Estate Services, P.C.

Choosing the right Realtor is an important decision. You should know a little about who they are and what makes them tick. You need to know what’s important to them and how they run their real estate business.

Here is a little bit about me:

Overview

I believe that real estate is a people business.  It’s about the goals, hopes and dreams of the client. It’s about understanding who they are and what they need.  It’s about time and work and putting in as much as is needed.  It’s about moving at their pace, whether fast or slow. It’s about giving good advice and being honest at all times, even if it costs me business – no commission is ever worth my integrity. It’s not an easy business and some days are harder than others.  It’s about good communication.  It’s about trust and being real at all times. In the end it’s about giving great service and having a happy client that I helped to make good decisions.

Experience

I’ve been selling real estate for nearly 25 years. I was licensed as a salesperson in Utah in 2001 and Idaho in 2002 and later became an Associate Broker.  I joined Parker Real Estate in 2002 and since then have closed hundreds of transactions and been closely involved in well over two thousand more.  Each of those transactions represent lessons learned and experience gained.  Experience in real estate is perhaps the most important attribute an agent can have, yet often times the lack of it is buried beneath flashy marketing and promises that are never realized.  In an industry filled with part-time agents, I chose to make this business my career and with that decision came the desire to be the very best agent I could be.

Often times the outside perception of what Realtors do would be simplified into just showing houses.  Although it is part of what I do, it is a small part and is generally the easiest part of the transaction. Behind the scenes is filled with understanding the market and having a firm grasp of pricing and values.  It is understanding loan programs and closing procedures.  It is juggling timelines and moving trucks. It’s having an eye for detail and knowing when a problem is a problem.  It’s understanding every word of the contract and managing the risk for the client.  It’s more than putting a sign in the ground and waiting for a buyer to call.  It is a non-stop effort to do all the right things and have a happy buyer or seller in the end.

 Background

I was born in Rexburg, Idaho in 1976 on the morning after the Teton Dam broke. The flood washed away my parents brand new home and sent my mother into pre-mature labor with me.  Their home and all their belongings were completely destroyed, yet they were blessed with a (beautiful) baby boy.  I grew up in the farming community of Grace, Idaho where I learned the meaning of hard work.  When I was young I helped my father build a house and was given a lot of responsibility at an early age. As I got into my teenage years, I spent a great deal of time moving sprinkler pipe, fixing fences, milking cows and doing whatever the farm required. After high school I spent a few months working at a plumbing company and thought that was what I wanted to do someday.

While on a 2 year mission for my church, I realized that I loved working with people and helping them through their problems. I enjoyed the effort it took to understand who they were.  I decided that being a plumber was not the right thing for me. I later began attending Utah State University with a desire to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. As I began selling real estate during that time, I realized that many of the skills a therapist needs were fully utilized as a Realtor. (On many occasions I have felt like the marriage therapist!) I later graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, but have continued to love selling real estate.

In 2000 I married my beautiful and talented wife Lisa and we have two wonderful children.

Likes and Loves

I love living in Cache Valley and the quality of life that it offers. I like the somewhat rural feel along with many amenities found in larger cities. I like that the Logan Utah and Cache Valley community continues to rank towards the top of the safest places in the United States to live and that I feel safe raising a family here. I like the abundance of outdoor activities and the proximity to the beautiful canyons and trails. I like nice people and appreciate that our community is filled with many of them.  I enjoy serving others. I love to travel and see the world. I enjoy spending time with my family.  I really love selling real estate and the blessing and opportunity it is to make a living doing something I enjoy while getting to meet and help really great people.
